What are the environmental requirements for using cast iron floor channels?
The issues with the working surface of floor channels are critical and cannot be overlooked. The main problems include blowholes, sand holes, sand inclusions, shrinkage porosity, etc. These can be remedied with the correct methods. The service life of floor channels is closely related to the repair of these issues, so repairs must be strictly carried out according to the process requirements.
During installation, use adjusting shims to properly and firmly support each support point of the floor channel. Technicians should adjust the floor channel to meet the required accuracy. When using the floor channel, handle workpieces gently and avoid moving rough workpieces on it to prevent impacts, scratches, or other damage to the iron surface. To prevent overall deformation of the floor channel, after use, remove workpieces from the floor channel to avoid long-term pressure causing deformation.
The flatness inspection method for the working surface of floor channels: For iron surfaces, when using the dot method for inspection, within a 25mm square area, Grade 0 floor channels and Grade 1 iron surfaces must have no fewer than 20 points, while Grade 3 floor channels must have no fewer than 12 points. When grinding iron surfaces, any two of three floor channels inspected against each other must have a certain number of points within a 25mm square area.
Liquid-formed components account for a large proportion in machinery and equipment. In machine tools, internal combustion engines, mining machinery, and heavy machinery like floor channels, liquid-formed components make up 70–90% of the total weight. In automobiles and tractors, they account for 50–70%, and in agricultural machinery, 40–70%. Liquid forming is widely applied due to its advantages, such as the ability to produce blanks with complex internal cavities and external shapes, like various boxes, machine tool beds, cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, etc. It offers great process flexibility and wide adaptability.
Floor channel issues are manufactured according to the "Machinery Industry Standards." Floor channels are made in ribbed plate or box styles, inspected for flatness in rectangular, square, or circular shapes. Materials include HT200-300, QT400-600, ZG15-45, with accuracy grades of 1, 2, and 3. The working surface of floor channels can be scraped to process V-shaped, T-shaped, U-shaped grooves, dovetail grooves, round holes, long holes, etc.
When molten metal is poured into the floor channel mold, the foam plastic pattern of the floor channel is used to prevent deformation. When hoisting the floor channel, use four steel cables of the same length to simultaneously lift from the four lifting holes, ensuring stable placement on transportation tools. Properly and evenly support the floor channel's support points to ensure each point bears equal force and the entire floor channel remains stable.
The flatness of the ground floor channel plane used in measurement is inspected using the optical flat method based on light wave interference. The inspection work is conducted according to the dot method. There are many similarities in the manufacturing and application methods of angle floor channels, but essentially, they are angular measuring tools, serving as wide-surface squares with requirements for flatness.
The size of liquid-formed floor channel components is almost unlimited, with weights ranging from a few grams to several hundred kilograms, and wall thicknesses from 0.5mm to about 1m. In the floor channel industry, any metal material that can be melted into a liquid state can be used for liquid forming. For cast iron with poor plasticity, liquid forming is the primary method for producing blanks or parts. The cost of liquid-formed components is relatively low. Floor channel liquid forming can directly utilize scrap parts and chips, with low equipment costs.
